Kai-Hsin Su is a 23-year-old senior student currently enrolled in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS) program at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Ms. Su moved to the U.S. in 1999 with her mother and sister. Her family moved to Richmond, VA after she and her sister began their academic careers at VCU. Her interests include painting, having won several awards in art competitions, and learning about different cultures, including the Japanese language. Ms. Su states her three goals as: providing her family with a better living environment, pursuing higher education, and helping others. As a senior in the CLS program at VCU, she is accomplishing these goals by maintaining a 4.0 GPA in the major while continuing to work 15-20 hours a week in the clinical laboratory to help support her family. Her future goals include completion of a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in CLS in preparation for teaching in the CLS profession. “I wish that I can be a professor who can not only teach the necessary knowledge, but is also able to share personal experiences with others and support their endeavors.” |
